QUESTION 1:
You work as the network administrator at Certkiller .com. The Certkiller .com
network consists of a single Active Directory domain named Certkiller .com. All
servers on the Certkiller .com network run Windows Server 2003 and all client
computers run Windows XP Professional.
IIS 6.0 is installed on a member server named Certkiller -SR04. Several
Certkiller .com Web sites are hosted on Certkiller -SR04. Certkiller .com conducts
all its business transactions over the Internet. You are responsible for administering
Certkiller -SR04. You need to make a few changes to a number of IIS site settings.
You want to perform all your configuration changes without having to disconnect
any Internet users from the Certkiller .com Web sites.
What should you do? Choose two correct answers. Each correct answer presents
only part of the complete solution. Choose two
A. Enable the Direct Metabase Edit feature on Certkiller -SR04.
B. Stop Certkiller -SR04.
Use Notepad to make changes to the MetaBase.xml file.
C. Restart Certkiller -SR04.
D. Use Notepad to change the MetaBase.xml file.
Answer: A, D
Explanation: You should enable the new Direct Metabase Edit feature, and then
edit the MetaBase.xml file. When Direct Metabase Edit is enabled, changes can be
made to the MetaBase.xml file without disconnecting users from the IIS server. You
can use a text editor such as Notepad to make changes to the MetaBase.xml file
without having to stop IIS. The configuration changes are applied immediately. You
can also use Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) tools or Active
Directory Services Interface (ADSI) scripts to change the MetaBase.xml file.
Whether changing the MetaBase.xml file manually or programmatically, you no
longer need to stop and restart IIS to perform any changes to the MetaBase.xml file.
Incorrect answers:
B, C: You do not need to stop and restart your IIS server to edit the MetaBase.xml file if
your Web server is running IIS 6.0.
QUESTION 2:
You work as the network administrator at Certkiller .com. The Certkiller .com
network consists of a single Active Directory domain named Certkiller .com. All

servers on the Certkiller .com network run Windows Server 2003 and all client
computers run Windows XP Professional. DNS is running on member server named
Certkiller -SR10.
IIS 6.0 is installed on a member server named Certkiller -SR25. Multiple
Certkiller .com Web sites are hosted on Certkiller -SR25. You receive instructions
to create two new Web sites named Offshore and Onshore. You add the necessary
host records on Certkiller -SR10. These records map the offshore. Certkiller .com
and onshore. Certkiller .com Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to the IP address
of Certkiller -SR25.
You decide to test whether you can successfully access all content on the Offshore
and Onshore Web sites. You discover though that you cannot connect to either of
the new Web sites. You are directed to the Default Web Site. In IIS, you notice that
the IP address, TCP port numbers, and host header name is configured the same for
each new Web site. You suspect that this is the issue preventing you from accessing
any of the new Web sites.
You need to ensure that all users can access the two Web sites through their Web
browsers. You do not want to interrupt access to the Default Web site.
What should you do? Choose three correct answers. Each correct answer presents a
complete solution to resolving your issue. Choose three answers.
A. Assign a unique IP address to each of the new Web sites.
B. Restart IIS.
C. Start each Web site manually.
D. Assign a unique host header name to each of the new Web sites.
E. Assign a unique port number to each of the new Web sites.
F. Enable Anonymous access for each of the new Web sites.
Answer: A, D, E
Explanation: The primary method used to host multiple Web sites is to assign a
unique IP address to each Web site. You can alternatively assign a different port
number for the Web site while using the same IP address, or you can assign unique
host headers on a single IP address.
Because Certkiller -SR25 is running IIS 6.0, you can host more than one Web site on
that server. Each of the Web sites is identified by the following parameters: IP address,
TCP port, Host name header. At least one of these parameters has to be unique for each
Web site, i.e. each specific Web site must be assigned a unique combination of the three
parameters. If any two Web sites have the same combination of the three parameters, one
Web site is stopped. You need to modify at least one of the three parameters for the new
Web site. You can a unique host name header for both of the new Web sites, providing
the host name header is mapped to the proper IP address in DNS. Other solutions would
be to assign a unique IP address to each of the new Web sites, or to assign a unique port
number for each Web site. If you choose to assign a unique port number for each Web
site, then you need to ensure that all client computers use the correct port to connect to
each Web site
Incorrect answers:

Actualtest.org – The Power of Knowing
B: Restarting IIS would result in one of the new Web sites starting and the Default Web
site not starting.
C: You would be unable to start either one of the new Web sites this way.
F: Enabling Anonymous access will result in anyone being to access the Web sites. It
will not enable you to host several Web sites on a Windows Server 2003 computer
running IIS 6.0
QUESTION 3:
You work as the network administrator at Certkiller .com. The Certkiller .com
network consists of a single Active Directory domain named Certkiller .com. All
servers on the Certkiller .com network run Windows Server 2003 and all client
computers run Windows XP Professional.
IIS 6.0 is installed on a member server named Certkiller -SR29. The
Certkiller .com intranet Web site is hosted on Certkiller -SR29. You receive
instructions to create a virtual directory on Certkiller -SR29. Users will need to
access the virtual directory in Internet Explorer. You create the new virtual
directory and name it Directory1. You then enable the following Web permissions
on Directory1:
1. Read
2. Write
3. Script Source Access
Users report that they receive an error message when they attempt to open
Directory1as a Web folder by using Internet Explorer. The message reports that
Directory1 could not be opened as a Web folder.
You need to ensure that all users can open Directory1 as a folder by using Internet
Explorer.
What should you do?
A. On Certkiller -SR29, enable the WebDAV Web service extension.
B. On Certkiller -SR29, restart the World Wide Web (WWW) service.
C. Assign users the Index This Resource Web permission for Directory1.
D. Assign users the Directory Browsing Web permission for Directory1
Answer: A
Explanation: The WebDAV Web service extension allows users to edit, delete and
move files and directories, and share documents over the Internet. WebDAV utilizes
port 80, which is the default port used by HTTP. However, by default, WebDAV is
not installed, nor enabled in IIS 6.0. To enable WebDAV in IIS Manager for
Certkiller -SR29, select the Web Service Extensions (WSE) node in the console
tree, right-click WebDAV in the detail pane, and then click Allow to enable
WebDAV for all websites and virtual directories on Certkiller -SR29.
Incorrect answers:
B: TheWorld Wide Web (WWW) service connects HTTP requests from IIS clients to IIS
websites. The service is also used to publish Web services.

Actualtest.org – The Power of Knowing
C: If you assign users the Index This Resource Web permission for Directory1, and the
Indexing service is enabled, users would be able to search the files in the virtual
directory. Before this can be allowed, the WebDAV Web service extension has to be
enabled.
D: While users need to have the Directory Browsing Web permission assigned for
Directory1 to view files in the folder, the issue you have is due to the WebDAV Web
service extension not being enabled on Certkiller -SR29. If the Directory Browsing
Web permission is NOT assigned for users and WebDAV Web service extension IS
enabled, users will still be able to open Directory1 as a Web folder. The folder will
though appear to contain nothing.
